Keel forming is a new metal forming process with material saving, energy saving and high speed.

The keel forming is to continuously bend the metal plates and strips such as coils and strips horizontally through sequentially arranged multi-pass forming rolls to make profiles with specific cross-sections. There is only bending deformation during the roll keel forming process. The thickness of the deformed material remains unchanged during the forming process, except for a slight local thinning of the billet's bending angle. This processing method is especially suitable for the processing of products with a long shape and a large batch.

The forming process of the keel forming machine equipment is high-speed, high-yield, and versatile. The main advantage of this forming process is that it can process profiles with complex shapes. The head and tail of the profile are twisted and the opening degree is reduced. Productivity increases as the operation is almost continuous. Coil cost is low and cut loss is low, thus reducing overall material cost.
